New York, New York!

FOWA Miami is live with a brand new design

Finding a design process that works

My Life is normal again
So after four months of mayhem and up upheaval my life is finally back to some sort of normality. Em, Theo and I are finally settled in Bath. Em and Theo are enjoying exploring the city and meeting new friends while I'm fully entrenched and having lots of fun at Carsonified. It's great to feel good... and I'm going to have time to blog too... I think!

Matt week is over and Matt is alive!
At Carsonified we've spent the last week creating Matt. Matt is a simple web app that lets you post to multiple twitter accounts at once. The hard part was we had to design, build and market the app in four days. We started on the Monday morning a 9am and finished on Thursday at 6pm. The whole team had a role to play in the project and as usual I was the designer and front end developer. It was an amazing week. It was hard work, fun and rewarding... definitely the best week of my working life.Check it out here

Holy Crap I'm busy!!!
Massive apologies for not blogging lately! I've been mega busy. Loads on at Carsonified, loads on at home with moving house and little T;) I'll be getting my act together once we're in Bath which is happening in the next few weeks.
Today I'm off to London for the FUEL conference. Should be a lot of fun. I'll let you know how it goes!

Tweeting pictures
So it's almost part of my job description at Carsonified to use Twitter which is cool cos it's fun... but one of the really cool things about twitter for me is Twitpic. It basically lets you upload pictures that are then logged as your twitter updates. It makes loads of sense to me as I'm a picture person I guess. One week down... well three days
I've just finished my first week of work at Carsonified. Well it's only been three days really but that's only one day short of a full working week at Carsonified. It's been really cool. My fellow Carsonites have been very kind to me and made my first week really enjoyable. So thanks guys!

I'm off to Bath!
I'm packing my bags this afternoon and I'm off to Bath. It's my first day at Carsonified tomorrow! I'm both nervous and excited... but I can't wait to get stuck in. We're going to be doing some really exciting stuff this year and for me it all starts here!

Drunkin community art project
I painted a couple of 3x3 foot canvases a few years ago. I didn't have anywhere to hang them so I asked a local pub called the Beach House in Bognor town if they would mind giving them a home. They were more than happy to! To spice things up a bit I supplied a few marker pens behind the bar and encouraged the punters to make artistic contributions to my canvases. It was a sort of drunkin community art project! You can see what they came up with on square 22 of my Sketchbook

I'm joining Carsonified
I'm doing this blog stuff all wrong! I've already told you that I'm joining Carsonified, but I wanted to put up an official post about it. So here it is. I'm leaving a great little company based in Chichester called Wasted Media and joining a great company in Bath called Carsonified. See my last blog entry about the Future of Web Design for all the details ;)

I went to 'Future of Web Design' today
I went to the Future of Web Design today. It was the workshop day, unfortunately I couldn't make it to the conference speeches which were yesterday. My main reason for going was to meet the team from Carsonified who run the Future of Web Design conference. At present Elliot Jay Stocks is Senior Designer at Carsonified but has decided to move on to pastures new, start his own business and move to Norway! So as from the 6th May 2008 I'll be the new Senior Designer at Carsonified. I'm really really excited about this and can't wait to get stuck in! Although I'll be really sad to leave my good friends and colleagues at Wasted Media. So a whole new beginning awaits my family and I in Bath. I'll keep you posted on how it all goes! Another weird thing is I now have Elliot's Mac Book Pro...which is cool!

New Illustrations
I've been messing around doing some illustrations in a style I used for the Alive album. They sort of revolve around cityscapes... a subject matter I return to quite often in my work. You can view them in my sketchbook.

The things we make has been featured on a bunch of CSS inspiration galleries...including Best Web Gallery W3C Sites CSS Elite Screenfluent Most Inspired. These galleries are great for getting your work seen and for checking out other designer's work. There are some amazing site designs out there!
